1995-1998 Bolton College

In 1995 I started my journey into IT. I left my job in dentistry – which just wasn’t for me – and started at Bolton College on Manchester Road. When I started college I had never used a IBM PC before, let alone Windows. I knew nothing about DOS, Networks or anything. The day I started I didn’t even know how to switch the computer on LOL. College was a brilliant time of my life, I loved it. I studied for a GNVQ Intermediate in Information Technology (Level 2) and then after passing that I did a BTEC National Diploma in Computer Studies.
Whilst studying at college it was the first time I got to use the World Wide Web. The college had two computers which were connected to the Internet. Back in 1997 it was relatively new and I started to lean how to write HTML wrote web sites over the summer. I pushed the subject with my college tutor and my class got to lean this new technology. Working together we wrote an intranet site for the college and I even wrote a web site for the college.

Below are some web sites that I created at college – (some along with my peers).
