Going Sober for October

Well, here I go again. I've decided, just now, to take part in Macmillan's Go Sober for October campaign.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love a pint or two or more. If you're lucky enough to be one of my Facebook Friends then you will have probably seen a fair few photos of me with a pint when I check-in at the pub. Now, I don't think this habit will be changing, even throughout October. What will be changing, however, is the beverage I will be drinking.

I have taken part in different charity fundraising "sober" campaigns before a couple of times. I'm in for a month of hell, I can tell you! It's so difficult 😖 So why am I doing it again? Well, there are multiple reasons for me:

  1. I want to raise as much money as I possibly can for Macmillan Cancer Support.

  2. I want to challenge myself to not have any alcohol for a month - don't worry, I'll do it.

  3. I want to give my liver a rest 😊

  4. I may be able to save some money, as I spend far too much on beer 🤣 That said soft drinks are just as expensive.

Macmillan Cancer Support are there to provide physical, financial and emotional support to help people live their lives as fully as they can.

I know people who have cancer; known people have had cancer and beat it, and I have known people who have died from cancer. Having seen how cancer affects people's lives I want to do my bit to help Macmillan keep doing what they do.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and if you feel like it please click my donation link and give some money.
