Brexit Day in Bolton 31/1/2020

Bolton Town Hall

I attended the celebrations in Victoria Square outside Bolton Town Hall which was lit up in Red, White and Blue.

I'd arrived about 45 minutes early so went for a pint at Wetherspoons. Felt it befitting as Tim Martin was a fellow Brexiteer :)

Arriving back at Victoria Square there were a few people milling about but my friends were nowhere to be seen. After a quick call, I found them around the corner in a different pub so went to spend ten minutes with them.

We all made our way back to the town hall whos clock was bust just like the one at the Palace of Westminister. It had been set at 11 pm already. A local councillor was inside the town hall clock tower armed with ear-defenders and a hammer.

At 11 pm it was a joyous occasion as the clock bell sounded and we all cheered. It was brilliant. There was a photographer from The Bolton News taking photos.
