Brexit Party table day – Bolton North East – Astley Bridge (05/10/2019)

From 10 am until 4 pm the Brexit Party Bolton North-East constituency were out in Astley Bridge, Bolton giving some great exposure to the Party. Being on the corner of Blackburn Road and Crompton Way meant that this gained as much visibility as possible as these roads get extremely busy. This must be one of - if not the busiest - junctions in Bolton.

Trevor Jones (Bolton North East PPC) and I were there bright and early to set up the gazebo and table. Saturday was a day that there was to be a Brexit Party gazebo/table day in every constituency in the UK showing the wider public who we are and what we are all about. We were joined later by Mark Cunningham (Bolton South PPC) who stayed for a few hours and helped out.

We had quite a number of people walking past the gazebo asking questions and lending their support. We had people walking away informed with Brexiteer newspapers; badges, sticky-bugs, leaflets, hats.

The amount of horn-honking and shouts of support made it really feel worthwhile. The weather was very undecided and was extremely overcast all day; at some points, I wondered if the heavens were going to open and we were going to get drenched - although that wouldn't be the first time. Luckily it stayed dry albeit a tad cold at times.
