Issues on one street in Astley Bridge, Bolton

I've went to a local cafe for lunch last week and walking back to my car I decided to take a few photographs of issues I saw.

Our streets are falling to bits, they are uncared for and it looks to me like no one gives two hoots about it.

Lines need repainting

These are suppose to be double lines to stop people parking on the street. If lines are not clear then unscrupulous drivers will disobey road rules.

Roads need repairing

Our roads are falling to bits. Roads should be checked and resurfaced continually in my opinion. Roads should be level and kept in top shape. The damage it could cause to cars could cost the council money in claims. So why not have immaculate roads and

Litter is everywhere

Some people are so lazy too. Why do people just throw their rubbish on the street? It's frustrates me so much.

Grids are sunken and full of muck and weeds

This is one of many grids that I've seen in Astley Bridge which are blocked full of dirt, muck, litter, weeds. If it rains (like it has done today - omg 😱🌧️) the rain water will have nowhere to go and be a possible flood risk to nearby premises. Imagine the cost implications in insurance claims alone?

Roads are a patchwork of filled tarmac

I realise that filling a hole with tarmac is cheaper than resurfacing a whole road but it looks a mess and will not stand the test of time and it will need doing again and again, and possibly again. Cost saving? No, I think not.

Fly tipped rubbish

This is either pure laziness or done because the "slim bins' in Bolton are full. Either way, this type of thing needs to be clamped down on. I am fed up with people's disregard for the area I live in.
