A New Chapter in Politics

Since 2016 I've been fascinated by politics, particularly the way different people can hold such vastly different opinions. After a period of stepping back, I've found my passion reignited by watching what has been happening with former members of Reform UK, especially Ben Habib and Rupert Lowe. They both speak with such astuteness and seem to talk a great deal of sense.

The way they were treated by Reform UK was, for me, the final straw. I've always had my reservations about Nigel Farage, and this recent situation truly sealed the coffin for that party. It's been a tumultuous year in politics, and when Ben Habib announced the formation of a new party, I felt both eager and a little hesitant to get involved again. I know firsthand that politics is a dirty game; I've stood as a candidate twice and received nothing but grief for my efforts, even though all I wanted to do was make my town a better place.

Finding a Political Home with Advance UK

Despite my reservations, I decided to join Advance UK. I wasn't the very first to sign up, but I think I was just above the 10,000th member, which still makes me one of the early adopters. In previous parties I've worked for, I never truly felt appreciated. However, with Advance UK, I already feel valued and part of a team. It's incredibly encouraging to see the party's leader, Ben Habib, actively engaging with supporters on X and thanking them for their contributions. That's a level of graciousness you would never see from Nigel Farage, and it gives me confidence that Ben would be a fantastic leader for our country.

While I'm a little disappointed that Rupert Lowe isn't on board, I'm genuinely enthused that Tommy Robinson has joined and is throwing his full support behind Advance UK. I can't wait to see what happens as we start to make gains in the polls. It's an exciting time to be involved!
