Pub #12 Big Window
The name of this establishment, The Big Window, is pretty self-explanatory, really. The pub boasts a genuinely huge window—actually, a couple of massive panes, but I'm not going to split hairs. It certainly gives the place an airy feel, making it stand out among the typical town centre pubs.
Inside the Big Window…
It's a rather large venue, with the main bar positioned centrally, making for quick service no matter where you settle. If you're a sports fan, you'll be happy; screens seem to be mounted on every available wall, showing all the action.
Today, however, the main visual feature was the surprisingly cheerful Christmas décor. They’ve strung up flashing pink and white lights everywhere, which, despite the potentially garish colour combination, actually looks quite nice and festive. Adding to the eclectic atmosphere are very random pictures adorning the walls—whether they have any particular connection to Burnley or the pub's history, I couldn't tell you!
Now, for the important part: the drinks.
Unfortunately for Gemma, they don't stock her preferred Pinot Grigio. She had to settle for the House Wine, which, thankfully, came in at a respectable price of £5.05 for a large glass. I, on the other hand, found my trusty pint of Guinness still comes in at a very reasonable £4.20. Always a relief!
