Pub #6: The Corkhouse, Town Centre

We popped into The Corkhouse this evening and were struck by the gorgeous, intimate atmosphere. It’s definitely a premium-feeling venue; the décor is chic and looks seriously expensive, with an absolute abundance of fairy lights creating a super cosy vibe. That touch of luxury, however, comes at a cost, as we quickly learned from the drinks menu! My Guinness cost £5.50 (for a surger can!), and Gemma’s large Pinot Grigio was an astonishing £7.95. Not exactly budget-friendly, but seeing as it wasn't my turn to pay, I can't complain too much!

The visit was after dark, and the venue had already transformed into a lively spot with a DJ spinning tracks. Everyone else was rather smartly dressed for a proper night out, making us feel slightly scruffy—we were just 'out,' not 'out out,' if you know what I mean!

On a promising note, they do serve Tapas, and what we saw being delivered to other tables looked absolutely fantastic. We’ll definitely have to make a point of coming back soon just to try the food.
